Torrance Courthouse

This courthouse has proudly served the residents of Torrance for many years and will continue to do so for many more years to come. Not only does this courthouse serve the city of Torrance, but it also serves the neighboring cities of Carson, Redondo Beach, Gardena, Hermosa Beach, and Lawndale.

Torrance Superior Courthouse serves many purposes that benefit the community as well as community outreach programs. There are different departments to meet all of the needs of the community including: an administrative office, general courthouse directory, civil directory, criminal directory, family law directory, traffic directory, judicial officers, juror directory, courthouse services, and other agencies at the courthouse.

Everyone who enters the courthouse must be searched for any illegal possessions or weapons. This is to ensure the safety of everyone inside the courthouse at all times. Both the administrative office and the general courthouse directory serve to make sure that every citizen that comes in the courthouse finds a way to the department that they need. The civil directory is for anyone that has any civil matters such as lawsuits. The criminal directory is for any criminal cases that anybody may need to deal with, whether it is to check up on their case or to pay the fine.

The family law directory is for any family law cases such as divorce or to handle anything after the divorce as in custody of any children. The traffic directory is used for any traffic violations and is where you could handle any traffic violations or to appear to court. Those are the most common reasons for people to come into the courthouse. If you or your loved one appears to court and would like to bail out of jail, then you will have to do so before the cut off time. The courthouse will not take any bail bonds after 3:00 in the afternoon. It is vital to turn in the bail bond before this time or the defendant will be taken back to jail after his or her hearing.
